Funeral services for Alberto Cortez, age 70, of Schulenburg, will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, June 1, 2026, from Ascension of Our Lord Catholic Church in Moravia. The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 a.m. with the parish rosary to be recited at 11:30 a.m. from the church. Interment will follow in Moravia Catholic Cemetery.

Alberto is survived by his wife, Fatima Cortez; daughter, Johanna Cortez; son, Luis Alberto Cortez and wife Francisca; son, Marco Antonio Cortez and wife Stephanie; daughter, Mayra Galvan and husband Spencer; grandchildren, Jacob, Alyssa, Lia, Collin, Joshua, Andraya, Lylah, Izak, and Elena; 4 brothers; 2 sisters; as well as other extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers; and grandson, Adrian.
