Services for Alphonse J. Pokluda, age 82, of Schulenburg, will be held at 10:00 a.m. at St. Rose Catholic Church on Saturday, November 25, 2023. The family will receive friends beginning at 8:30 a.m. with the parish rosary to be recited at 9:30 a.m. and interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery in Praha.

Alphonse is survived by his children, Theresa and Michael Pavlica, Deborah and Ewald Friedrich, Jr., Richard and Kristin Pokluda, Monica and Lee Pflughaupt; grandchildren, Janice and Kyle Krystynik, Brandon and Mackenzie Pavlica, Justin and Rebecca Pavlica, Macy Friedrich and fiance Lane, Madison Pokluda, Megan Pflughaupt and Evan Pflughaupt; great grandchildren, Emily, Aubrey, and Noah Kristynik, and Reese Pavlica; siblings, Helen Wiedemann, Anna and Michael Fishbeck, and Patrick and Brenda Pokluda.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Bernice; daughter, Marcia; parents, John and Katherine Pokluda; nephew, Kenneth; and brother-in-law, Allan Wiedemann.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of South Texas, St. Rose Catholic Church, Schulenburg Regency Nursing Home Activity Fund, or a charity of one's choice.
