Funeral services for Ben J. Sustr, age 84 of Schulenburg, will be held from the First United Methodist Church, in Schulenburg, Texas, on Sunday, June 2, 2013 at 3 pm. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 pm Saturday evening from the Schwenke-Baumgarten Funeral Home in Schulenburg. The American Legion Memorial services will be Saturday evening at 6:30 pm from the Schwenke-Baumgarten Funeral Chapel in Schulenburg. Interment will be in the Schulenburg City Cemetery.

The family requests donations be made to: First United Methodist Church of Schulenburg; Hermann Sons Scholarship Fund; Masonic Lodge #195 Scholarship Fund; Polka Lovers Memorial Fund; Schulenburg Public Library Memorial Fund; or a charity of one's choice.

Survivors include wife, Rene Sustr of Schulenburg; 2 daughters, Connie Kocurek and Nancy Sustr of Schulenburg; son, Roger Sustr and wife Sheri of Schulenburg; brother Sam Sustr and wife Liz of Moulton; 5 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; and 2 step great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Annie Novosad Sustr and Jim Sustr.
