Connie Sue Zak Mays, age 62, of Schulenburg, passed away on June 13, 2024. Connie was born on February 3, 1962, in Weimar, to Allen and Joyce Pauler Zak. She married Steve Mays on December 31, 1983. She lived in the St. John area for many years with her husband and their two children, Courtney and Clayton, and granddaughter, Kinslee. Connie cared for and loved all her family.

Connie is survived by her husband, Steve Mays, daughter, Courtney Mays; son, Clayton Mays; granddaughter, Kinslee Mays; stepsons, Brian Mays and wife Angela, and Shawn Mays and wife Dalia; step-grandchildren, Briana Whitson and husband Robert, and Kyra Mays Ramirez and husband San Juan; newly arrived step-great grandson, Cooper Allen Whitson; father, Allen Zak, Sr. and wife Charlene Grones; two sisters, Cheryl Vaclavik and husband Danny, and Cynthia Garza and husband Alfred; brother, Allen Zak, Jr.; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Joyce Zak; mother-in-law, Christine Mays; father-in-law, Wilbur Mays; and grandparents, August and Faustine Pauler.

A Memorial Service celebrating Connie's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at Schwenke-Baumgarten Funeral Home in Schulenburg. The family will receive friends beginning at 9:30 a.m.
