Funeral Services for Mrs. Cynthia Gassmann Barton, age 84 of Schulenburg, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 8, 2025, at St. Mary Catholic Church in High Hill. The family will receive friends beginning at 9:30 a.m. with the parish rosary to be recited at 10:30 a.m. from the church. Interment will follow in High Hill Cemetery.

Cynthia is survived by her husband, Johnny Barton; son, Daryl and Janet Gassmann; son, Dwayne and Patricia Gassmann; grandchildren, Lauren, Melissa, Dana, Allison, and Jacob; great grandchildren, Mia, Corbin, Maci, and Conner; stepdaughter, Renee Dworaczyk; stepson, Roger and Julia Barton; stepdaughter, Beverly and Ken Smith; 9 step grandchildren; 4 step great-great grandchildren; sister, Jeanette and Will Chaires; sister, Sandra Moore; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Erwin Gassmann; parents, Albert and Olga Barecky Staha; and brother-in-law, Terry Moore.

Memorial contributions may be made to High Hill's St. Mary Catholic Church and Cemetery restoration fund.
