The funeral services for Mr. Ermin C, Stuchly, age 85 of Schulenburg, Texas, will be held from the St. Rose Catholic Church in Schulenburg on Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at 10 am. Visitation will begin to the public after 4:30 pm on Tuesday, May 20. The American Legion and VFW memorial services will be held at 6:30 pm on Tuesday, with the Parish rosary to follow at 7 pm. Both services will be from the Schwenke-Baumgarten Funeral Home in Schulenburg. Entombment will be in the St. Rose Mausoleum in Schulenburg, Texas. Mr. Stuchly passed away in his home surrounded by his family, in Schulenburg, Tx. Born in Ammannsville, Texas, Ermin is the son of Rudolf and Agnes Stuchly. At a very young age, he and his family moved to St. John, where Ermin attended St. John Catholic School. At the age of 18, he joined the army and served his country for two years, one of those in Korea. On April 21,1953 Ermin married Ovella Hilscher, and for the next 30 years, Houston would be their home. After 25 years of service with the Southland Corporation, and raising four children, Ermin retired and moved to Schulenburg. Ermin loved the simple pleasures of life. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, playing poker and dancing. It was spending time with his family and friends that brought him the most joy. Ermin was a member of the Schulenburg American Legion and VFW. Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Ovella (Hilscher) Stuchly; his four children, Kenneth Stuchly and his wife, Velma of Dickinson; Michael Stuchly and his wife, Gaye of Houston; Diana Markowski and her husband, John of Spring; and Patricia Stephens and her husband, Lloyd of Pearland. Surviving grandchildren are Kevin Stephens and his wife, April, and their son, Trace; Daniel Markowski, Michael Stephens and his wife, Lindsey, and their son, Jase; Crystal Markowski, Michael Markowski, Steven Markowski, Jamie Stuchly and Faith Stuchly. Also a sister Lydia Jasek of Weimar, and sister-n-laws, Helen Smolik of Needville, Vera Hilscher of Weimar and Tillie Stuchly of Sealy. Preceding him in death are his parents, Rudolf and Agnes Mazoch Stuchly, sisters, Agnes Giswold, Ann Sullivan and Adell Hermis, and brother, Rudy Stuchly. Pallbearers are grandsons, Kevin Stephens, Daniel Markowski, Michael Stephens, Steven Markowski, Michael Markowski, and Michael (Jamie) Stuchly. Honorary Pallbearers are Ed Vacek, Elton Demel, Elmer Meyer, James Stanzel, Frankie Cernosek, Alvin Langhamer, Forrest Dittrich and Ted Kolek.
