Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at 10 am from the St. Rose Catholic Church in Schulenburg, Texas. Visitation will begin to the public after 5 pm on Monday, with the Parish and Knights of Columbus rosary to be recited Monday evening at 7 pm from the Schwenke-Baumgarten Funeral Home in Schulenburg. The family requests donations be made to the St. Rose Catholic Church Schulenburg, Texas or a charity of one's choice. Survivors include: daughters-Sandy Hill/husband Roy of Sugarland and Ernestine Dach/husband Anton of Trinity; sons-Ernest Surman, Jr. of Trinity, Mark Surman/wife Suzette of Schulenburg and Ray Surman/wife Kim of Katy; sisters-Marcella Langhamer/husband Leon of Schulenburg and sister in law-Gladys Surman of Schulenburg; 13 grandchildren and 30 great granddchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife-Bernice.
