Services for Mr. Herbert Nolan Cordes, age 95, will be held on Saturday, September 30, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at Schwenke-Baumgarten Funeral Home in Schulenburg. He will be laid to rest in the Schulenburg City Cemetery alongside his loving wife, Marie Cordes.

Herbert was born on July 30, 1928, in Freyburg, Texas, to parents, Rudolph and Lena Cordes. He spent his last few days in Channelview, Texas, with his sister, Julie Mae Donahoe, who he lived with. Herbert proudly served his country in the Merchant Marines for 38 years.

He is survived by his two sisters, Julie Mae Donahoe and Edna Mae Phillips and preceded in death by his parents; 2 sisters, Ruby Winkler and Ruth Williams; and brother, Ervin Cordes.
