The funeral services for Mr. Herman (Ham) Hartensteiner, age 85 of Schulenburg, Texas, will be held from the St. Rose Catholic Church in Schulenburg on Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at 10 am. Visitation will begin to the public after 4:30 pm on Monday, January 13. The VFW Memorial services will be held Monday evening at 6:30 pm, with the Parish rosary to be recited at 7 pm from the Schwenke-Baumgarten Funeral Home in Schulenburg. Entombment will be in the St. Rose Catholic Cemetery, Schulenburg, Texas.

Survivors include: wife, Viola Hartensteiner of Schulenburg; daughters--Carol Rektorik and husband, Gary of Houston, Kathy Pyka and husband, Greg of Dripping Springs; sons--Mike Hartensteiner and wife, Jan of Cypress, Steve Hartensteiner of Richmond; daughter-in-law--Wanda Hartensteiner of Richmond; sister--Margaret Havrda of Schulenburg; brother--Norbert Hartensteiner and wife, Gwen of Colorado Springs, CO; 7 grandchildren; 2 step-grandchildren; and 1 step-great-grandchild.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Ida Berger Hartensteiner; son; 3 sisters and 6 brothers.
