James Paul Chaloupka, age 70, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 19, 2025. He was born on September 1, 1954, in Hallettsville, Texas, and was the sixth child of Frank V. Chaloupka and Agnes Gajdousek, Chaloupka.

James grew up and lived in different places in his lifetime; from Schulenburg, to Yoakum, to Houston, back to Schulenburg, to West Point, then to Hallettsville, residing Hallettsville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

James loved living on the farm and watching the cattle and all other farm animals. He liked when the nieces and nephews came for a visit.  They always would laugh and cut up with their Uncle James.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Rose Melnar; sister, Theresa Rainosek Jalufka; brother, Frankie Chaloupka; brothers-in-law, William Rainosek, Sr., Patrick Melnar, and Daniel Jalufka, Sr.

James is survived by his sisters, Agnes Berckenhoff, Frances Janak (Edmund); brother, Tony Chaloupka; and numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in St. John. The family will receive friends beginning at 9:00 a.m. with the rosary to be recited at 10:00 a.m. from the church. Interment will follow in St. John Catholic Cemetery.
