Funeral services for Jimmie "Jim" Bertsch, age 85, of Engle, will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 24, 2026, from St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Schulenburg. The family will receive friends beginning at 9:30 a.m. with the rosary to be prayed at 10:30 a.m. from the church. Interment will follow in St. Michael Catholic Cemetery in Weimar.

Jim is survived by his wife, Kathy Bertsch; children, Lisa Wolfe and husband Steve, Craig Bertsch and wife Jennifer, and Sandy Kerby and husband Skyler; grandchildren, Kelby Kerby and wife Kimberly, Macie Day and husband Jerrod, Haley Blackwell and husband Andrew, Keely Dalton and husband Robert, and Chelsea Bertsch Audilet and husband Colton; great-grandchildren, Layton, Cami, Connor, Hunter, Gracie, Karsyn, Caroline, Paislee, Drake, Coy, Luke, Riggs, Tealsyn, Emmie Cade, Landrie, Lennon, and Lowen; brother, Steve Bertsch and wife Pam.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Conrad E. and Evelyn Martinek Bertsch; step-brother, Lynn Ray Meyer; and grandson, Cade Bertsch.
