Memorial Services for Johnnie Joe "Sonny" Balcar, age 92, of Schulenburg, will be held on Saturday, July 12, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Schulenburg, Texas. The family will receive friends beginning at 9:30 a.m. with the rosary to be recited at 10:30 a.m. from the church. Inurnment with full military honors conducted by the Schulenburg American Legion will follow in St. Rose Catholic Cemetery in Schulenburg.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Rose Catholic Church, School or Cemetery; or a charity of your choice.

Johnnie is survived by his daughter, Sherrie Gibson/husband Allen of Houston; son, John Gary Balcar/wife Rhonda of Whitney; son, Danny Joe Balcar/wife Michelle of Schertz; sister, Mary Jane Pesek/husband Stanley of Schulenburg; 7 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild: as well as several nieces and nephew.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Balcar; parents, John and Martha Mazac Balcar; and his sister, Margie/husband Rudy.
