Judy Logan Baresh passed away peacefully December 3, 2024 from complications of COPD. She was born October 18, 1944, to Robert Edward Logan and Frances Logan, in Texarkana, Texas. The family moved to Houston and Judy graduated from Bellaire High School in 1963. She subsequently graduated from Sam Houston State University with a degree in Elementary Education where she was a member of Chi Omega sorority. She then taught first grade at Grissom Elementary for 30 years. In the mid seventies, Judy was nominated and was awarded Teacher of the Year when there was only one teacher given this award for all of HISID. Judy then turned in her pencils and took early retirement at age 50 to travel the world with her husband of 47 years, Roger Baresh, and visit and maintain their residences in Houston, Port Aransas, Aransas Pass, South Padre Island, and Boca Raton, Florida. Judy had a talent for decorating and did a spectacular job of furnishing and decorating these homes.

Judy and Roger spent many hours on their Bertram fishing offshore in the Gulf of Mexico. For 30 years, they fished all of the major marlin tournaments on the Texas coast and several tournaments in Louisiana, Mississippi and Walkers Cay, Bahamas. The crew still talk about Judy's ability to prepare delicious meals and make the crew comfortable in sometimes difficult sea conditions. In fact, the captain, Matt Richter, told Judy that she should start a boot camp for future wives.

To say that Judy was a wonderful person is an understatement. She was a beautiful woman, more importantly though, she was a beautiful person. Anyone that met Judy loved her and she loved everyone she met. Friends almost always asked about her and to tell her hello. She will be missed by all who had the experience of knowing her, especially her long-time friends, Patty Ward, Donna Harkness, Debbie Garrett and Nancy Best.

She was predeceased by her parents; her beloved sister, Jean Shelley Logan Brown; and her husband, Tom Brown; brother-in law and sister in-law, Jimmy Baresh and Ellen Baresh.

Judy is survived by her husband, Roger Baresh; stepsons, Brent Baresh and wife, Emma of Houston, Ryan Baresh of Arlington; and her dedicated long time care giver and 50 year Baresh family friend, Gary Westbrook. She is also survived by nieces Stephanie Baresh Stenslie (Darren), Cassie Brown Miller (Dan), and Carrie Brown Dubaniewicz (Steve) all of Houston.

Also a special thanks to her caregivers during her recent hospitalization, Anastasia Inkiriwang, Daisy Karamoy, and Nelia Aquino and to the staff of The Hallmark skilled nursing facility.

Graveside Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 13, 2024, in St. Rose Cemetery in Schulenburg.
