Leo Henry Filip of Point Comfort passed away Tuesday April 15, 2014 in Katy, Texas at the age of 93.  He was born November 19, 1920, in Moravia, Texas, to the late Frank Filip and Agnes Sramek Filip.

Leo was a farmer and rancher before he started his career with Alcoa Aluminum and served in the Army from September 21, 1942 to February 3, 1946.  Leo was gifted in a variety of skills and abilities.  Leo was a great fisherman, often catching fish when others could not.

Survivors include: wife, Edith Cervenka Filip; daughter, Patricia Ann Filip; son, James Leo Filip; sister, Helen Dittrich; grandchildren Brittany Barker, Brooke Filip, Jonathan Filip, Collin Lansdale, Cristan Lansdale; and great grandson Brody Barker.

Leo is preceded in death by his daughter Sandra Jane Filip Lansdale, his parents, sister Edith Hafer, brother Jerome Filip, and Alfons Filip.

Visitation will be Monday, April 21, 2014, from 11 - 1pm and service starts at 1 pm at Ascension of our Lord Catholic Church in Moravia, Texas.
