Lindy
Michael-Huser
Jan 19, 1928 — Apr 17, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the death of our beautiful and fun-loving mother, Lindy Michael Huser, of Schulenburg, who passed away peacefully on April 17, 2025, at the age of 97. She now rests in eternal peace, safe in the arms of her Savior, Jesus Christ. Lindy was the joy and the foundation of our family, a devoted mother and grandmother, who will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
Lindy was born in San Saba, Texas on January 19, 1928, to William Daniel Kelley and Bessie Lee Turner Kelley, being the fourth of five children. She grew up in San Saba and was baptized in the San Saba River. From there, she moved to San Antonio, where she worked as a telephone operator. In 1947, she married James D. Michael and settled in Schulenburg, where they raised their three daughters. She married Paul Huser in 1989.
Blessed with a vivacious and fun-loving personality, Lindy always made people around her laugh. She loved entertaining her friends around her kitchen table, dancing, listening to music, and mothering anyone who needed it. She was also an avid reader and enjoyed gardening, or as she called it, "diggin' in the dirt". Her family will remember her as a beautiful, devoted mother, an over-achiever, a great cook, and an excellent seamstress. She had a firm hand when it was called for, but always had unconditional love for her family.
Lindy is survived by her loving companion and favorite dance partner, Ed Hrncir of Hallettsville, Texas; daughters, Becky (Johnnie) Maroul of Bryan, Texas, Suzy (Larry) Hill of Houston, Texas, and Kathleen Marlow of College Station, Texas; granddaughter, Terri (Brett) Audilet of Hardin, Texas; stepson, Steven (Bridgett) Huser of LaGrange, Texas; and step-grandson, Luke Huser of LaGrange, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Paul Huser; her former husband and father of her children, James D. Michael; her son-in-law, Robert A. Marlow; and her four brothers and sisters.
A private graveside service will be held in Oak Hill Cemetery in Flatonia, Texas. At Lindy's request, she wanted us all to remember the good times and raise a glass in celebration of her journey home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Schulenburg Public Library, or a charity of your choice.
