Marylin Galleymore was called home on September 15, 2026. She was born in Storm Lake, Iowa, on December 26, 1933. She was one of 12 children to Ruby and Vaughn Domino. From a young age, she displayed a bold, independent spirit—leaving home as a young girl and hitching a ride on a cattle truck to Minneapolis. It was there at the Air Force Base that she met the love of her life, Donald F. Galleymore and they were married on August 5, 1953. They moved back to Don’s home in Auburn, New York to begin building their family with Randy, Timmy, & Wendee. Once Timmy’s special needs was discovered, they relocated the family back to Minnesota to surround Timmy with the care, love, and support of extended family. It was there that she had the twins, Kipp and Jeff.

In 1969, they relocated to Texas. Driven by her deep love for her son Timmy, who was born with special needs, she became a fierce and tireless advocate for the special needs community and their families. She also Devoted countless hours to the Special Olympics, March of Dimes, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, the American Association of People with Disabilities (AAPD), Disability Rights of Texas, and the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) giving back to those organizations that gave so much to her family. After settling with her daughter in Moravia, where she discovered the many organizations for special needs in the area, including the Turtle Wing foundation, she knew she was exactly where she belonged.

Her life’s work was defined by giving back. She had so many accomplishments throughout her life, but some of the highlights were when she spearheaded the creation of the Northwest Park swim team and local youth group, ensuring young people had space to grow and connect. Another was when she successfully petitioned Aldine ISD to install a swimming pool at Eisenhower High School, expanding opportunities for student athletes and community members.

After retirement, their summers were spent in Sherwood Forest in Minnesota with family and the winters were split between Texas and Arizona. She held numerous positions at Sherwood Forest where she loved interacting with family and friends. It was then that she discovered her “2nd job,” according to Don, the casino. She loved the thrill of the machines and made many memories there with her entire family, especially her sisters.

Her devotion extended into every corner of her life. Guided by strong convictions, she shared the gospel through Bible Study Fellowship (BSF) and actively marched across numerous cities as a champion for human rights, especially women. A five-time cancer survivor, she walked through life with a grounded, earthly strength, unwavering faith, and a fierce love for her five children and family. Marylin was an inspiration to everyone she met, where her memory will be kept alive by her family and friends.

Marylin is survived by her children, Randy Galleymore, Wendee Galleymore (Patti), Jeff Galleymore (Terri), and Kipp Galleymore; grandchildren, Jeffrey (Sabrina), Maggie, Westin (Amy), Zach (Jacquelyn), Lauren, Mauren; bonus grandchildren, Malorie and Ryan; great-grandchildren, Raelynn, Laney-Mae, Taetum, Kaylee Rose, Josiah, Elliana, and Mia MacDonald; siblings, Darlene Getchell, Russell Domino (Jeanice), Joyce Nistler, and Gerald Domino; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Galleymore; son, Tim Galleymore; brothers, Virgil Dean Domino, Robert Neil Domino, and Ronald Domino; sisters, Geraldine Domino, Ruby LaVonne Danielson, Sharon Weber, and Shirley Anderson.

A Celebration of Life will be Wednesday, September 23, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. from First Methodist Church in Schulenburg. The family will receive friends beginning at 1:00 p.m. from the church. Inurnment will take place at a later date in Houston National Cemetery in Houston.
